The National Championship of Custom Bike Building at KICKBACK

Nearly 3,000 visitors enjoyed a weekend showcasing the best custom engineered motorcycles at KICKBACK on 16-17th April.

The weekend culminated with the 2016 National Championships where the standard and quality of entries was once again straight out of the top draw.

There were five classes and Best in Show plus Best Old School.

FREESTYLE was won by Chris Nichols and Dave Batchelar from P&D Custom Bikes with the stunning Lord of the Ages digger (below).

This top draw creation also won BEST IN SHOW; a unique double which has never been achieved before in the five year history of the show / awards.

FREESTYLE runners up were David Williams and Dave How in a close fought contest. The class was kindly sponsored by 100% Biker.

YOUNG BUILDER was won by Will Morris who goes on to retain his title from last year (see below).

YOUNG BUILDER runners up were Gary Dance out of Rolling Art Motorcycles and last year's runner up Rahul Sinroja who heads up Sinroja Motorcycles.

The class was kindly sponsored by Lamb Engineering.

CAFE BIKE / TRACKER / BRAT STYLE was won by Piotr Hudy from Poland with his exquisite BMW cafe (see below).

Runners up were Martyn Wilkins and John Tarplee and the category was kindly sponsored by Classic Bike Guide.

PERFORMANCE CUSTOM is the class dedicated to streetfighter style masterpieces and the winner was Clive Saunders for his divine CBX creation pictured below.

Runners up were Ben Hall and Nelson Ryall and the class was sponsored by World Wide Bomber.

CUSTOM STREET CUB was won by Gary Winfield with a brilliantly engineered cub with a 450 KTM engine crammed into it (see below).

The runners up in the class were Brian Ricketts and Three Speed Dave and the generous sponsors were OUTDOOR365 and MULTITOOL.

Thanks must go to Kev Johnson for supplying the excellent trophies for the Old School class which was won by Tom Batterbee, the runner up was Dave Mead.

So a wonderful National Championships which provided us with a lot of fun, discussion and top-draw quality throughout comes to an end. Thank you to all bike builders, engineers and fabricators for entering and reaching the finals at KICKBACK Stoneleigh Park.

Our next event is an Invitational Showcase - The Cheltenham Festival of Bikes which is held at the Racecourse in Cheltenham on Sunday 21st August, see you there.
